Licensing Deadlines
The timescale for requiring a licence is as follows:
| 6 or more occupiers |
by 1st October 2000 |
| 5 occupiers |
by 1st March 2001 |
| 4 occupiers |
by 1st October 2002 |
| 3 occupiers |
by 1st October 2003 |
All HMO's need to apply for a licence up to a minimum of 2 months prior to the above dates as otherwise the application process may exceed the time limit.
The property still requires an HMO licence whether you, as Landlord, live there or not, the only difference being the property management implications.
