Energy Performance Certificates

From 4th January 2009 rental properties in Scotland require to have an Energy Performance Certificate before the property is rented out. An Energy Performance Certificate provides a property with an energy rating and the associated report will make recommendations as to how the energy efficiency of the property can be improved. A copy of the EPC should be made available to prospective tenants and be displayed in the property. Once carried out the EPC will remain valid for 10 years.

HMO Scotland is accredited through RICS for Scotland and can carry out Energy Performance Certificate checks on behalf of clients.
